Which type do you need?
Paddock stands lift one end of the bike by the swingarm or the fork legs. They are the quickest way to get a wheel off the ground for chain adjustment, cleaning or tyre work, but your bike needs suitable mounting points.
Jack stands sit under the frame or engine and lift the whole bike a short distance, so both wheels come up together. They pack away small and suit oil changes, detailing and storage.
Lift tables raise the bike on a long platform to a comfortable working height. They take the most floor space and cost the most, and they make long or frequent jobs far easier on your back.
Wheel chocks do not lift anything. They hold the front wheel upright so the bike stands on its own in a shed or on a trailer.
Before you buy
Find your bike's wet weight in the owner's manual and choose a stated capacity comfortably above it. Measure the ground clearance under the frame or engine and compare it with a jack's lowest height. Check whether your swingarm has spools or a flat underside for a rear paddock stand. Measure the floor space for a table, including the ramp and room to walk around it, and make sure the floor is level and hard.
