They may instead be switched on and off individually with the power buttons on each tray. The LEDs displays additionally show the status of each HDD. If things are heating up The enclosure is made mostly of steel and is therefore robust and dissipates heat particularly well. The cooling of the drives in heavy operation is furthermore guaranteed by a large 140 mm fan on the back.
