This system effectively filters out food debris and hair, removes odours, and softens water. Pre-Filter Sponges --- Set supplied with 16 square sponges measuring 1.9 in * 1.19 in * 1.19 in. Sponge prevents debris from entering the pump, extending pump life and reducing noise. Recommendations --- It is recommended that you change the filter every 2 to 4 weeks, more frequently if you have several pets or if the water quality is poor. And please soak the filter in water for 2 minutes befor use. Warm Tips --- Please clean the fountain regularly and replace the water with fresh water in time.
