Standard #8-32 machine screws used for knobs, pulls cabinet door decorative hardware 25-pack for multiple projects or replacements To choose the right screw length, measure the thickness of each door or drawer front individually (they may differ) and select screws about 1/4" to 3/8" longer than the thickness. Most standard cabinet doors and drawer fronts are 3/4" thick, which is why most knobs and pulls come with 1" screws. Note: It is not recommended to use a screw more than 3/8" longer than the door or drawer front, as it may not thread in far enough to pull the knob or pull tightly against the surface.
